Give him a shelf to fill or a crate to haul, and he’ll get it done — eventually.

Socks keeps him around because, despite the occasional mix-up (and the frequent bump on the noggin), Boots is steady, loyal, and never complains.

In a world that can get a little too clever for its own good, there’s something to be said for a chicken who just shows up and does the work.
