Hi there! I'm Daisy. :-) [always so grateful when I can get my actual name on a site!!]

On ChickenPet, you'll find me welcoming new players, creating chicks for my hatcheries (Daisy's Bakery and The Bug Box), and helping others rescue pullet chickens via SugarBunBunnii's Angel Chickets thread.*

Off ChickenPet, I love baking and cooking for my partner @matcha, sculpting little things out of clay and painting them, and playing with my kitty, Mildred. [see below as I have a ton of hobbies and interests]

I've been a virtual pet site player since 2000, starting on Neopets. While I've played dozens of pet sites over the years, ChickenPet is where I'm most active. I love the adorable art, the customization, the simplicity, all the clever puns, and how kind the owner is.

*I'm more often able to help if your request only has one (1) chicken in it. [my chicket count weeps in the corner]

Coop Trigger Warnings: Death and Insects

โšฐ๏ธFuneral Crowcession roost has themes of of death, bones, and some blood. Some backgrounds have skeletons.

For 4 1/2 years, I worked in funeral care as an urn and grave marker engraver. I'd design layouts with names, dates, and epitaphs for cremation urns and temporary grave markers, along with drawing custom portraits of the decedents to be engraved onto the pieces as well (all with CorelDRAW, Epilog Legend 36EXTs, sandblaster, etc.). This is part of the reasoning behind this theme and interest. It's ironic, because I prefer burial over cremation, though a natural burial, and above all, I personally want to donate my body to science. I want others to learn or for my body to have more purpose or for my organs to be donated. I think cremation, no offense intended and all due respect, isn't very "rest in peace" and it uses a ton of energy. And it just feels horrific. Burial, sans chemicals, feels the most peaceful to me, the most kind towards the being, though it takes up precious land, and without chemicals, no open casket. While death is a theme, motif, etc. that I've loved my whole life (irrevocably depressed goth/emo kid here), death is actually still very scary to me and I don't like that people die. I worry about it incessantly. But I truly hope my roost theme doesn't bother anyone and you can see the beauty in it.

bug emojiโ€†Bug Box roost has chickens designed to look like bugs, but the backgrounds are not currently of actual bugs and not sure I'll make them. Though on Cicada's profile, I do have photos (at the bottom with a TW) of real cicadas I'm holding.

I've loved bugs my whole life (my AOL username as a kid was BugLover91 and yes, I got bullied for it lmao :-/). I hope this theme isn't too horrible for anyone!

๐Ÿฃ chick picks

Body: Chuffed! Chook was my initial favorite but I love the fluff. I'd love a combo of the two.
Comb: Front
Tail: Fan, Pompom, None
Pattern: Neck-speckle, Half-lace, Lace
Eyespot: Basic
Colors: Greens, purples, blacks, blues, pastels, greys, monochromes
A color that bothers me is vermilion ONLY because it's between brown and bark. I so desperately want brown and bark together lol.
Site Mode: Dark chia. I love that it's dark AND green!

๐Ÿ“ chick stats

Wheel of Hue Wins: 12 โ€” 7/11/25 Mint 1 color (Spring) 127 eggs, 7/25/25 Indigo 0 colors 196 eggs, 8/10/25 Ochre 0 colors 109 eggs, 10/11/25 Russet 0 colors 158 eggs, 10/16/25 Ash 0 colors 298 eggs, 11/16/25 Apple 0 colors 186 eggs, 11/22/25 Indigo 0 colors 258 eggs, 11/27/25 Spring 0 colors 186 eggs, 12/3/25 Overcast 0 colors 175, 02/03/26 Plum 0 colors 855 eggs (this one took a long time to win, but was worth it! [I stick with colors until they win]), 03/17/26 Apple 0 colors 215 eggs, 05/06/26 Teal 0 colors 235 eggs.
Timezone: I list my chicken adoption and purchase dates in CST and I type my dates as MM/DD/YY (if not Month Day, Year).
Angel Chicket Chickens: 4 โ€” Lottie 6/7/25, Stumble 7/10/25, Moxie 7/16/25, Plushie 7/27/25. (A theme of "ie" suffixes?!)
Angel Chickets Donated: 9 total (or like 20+? I've lost count cuz I stopped recording this waahh!); 1 08/30/25; 5 01/03/26; 3 01/18/26; 1 01/30/26 -- some are chickets donated, some are that I adopted the chicken then sent them, so I think I may be missing some other chickens I adopted then sent... think emoji me wanting to keep track of stuff only to then be bad at it lol
Fun Fact: I've never pulleted or released a chicken. :3 I don't think this makes me superior than anyone, I just mean that I don't think I could ever do it. Not even for an achievement. I'm a bit too sentimental. ๐Ÿฅด Idk what I'm gonna do when I inevitably run out of coop space LOL.

๐Ÿชฆ fun (?) facts

โœฆ One of my collections in real life: Human teeth. I have a bit over ten, most of them being wisdom teeth (four wisdoms are my own). I asked my oral surgeon to drill holes in mine so I could string them onto a silver chain for a necklace!

โœฆ I worked as a laser engraver for 4 1/2 years, engraving cremation urns and temporary grave markers. During this time, I engraved the urns for Zsa Zsa Gabor, Florence Henderson, and Burt Reynolds. Depending on your age, these celebs may not impress you lol but feel free to give them a search!

โœฆ On the pet site Egg Cave, where guilds are not a feature, I created and ran a guild for around a year and a half. It was called Nest or The Nest and had around 45-50 members (Nestlings). You can visit the Guild Event Schedule to see the contests and activities I created for the Nestlings and the Guild Account to see the directory of guild pages. I owned a few guilds back on Neopets and I felt like Egg Cave was missing something like this (and so was I!). I loved organizing events for everyone and giving them something to look forward to.

โœฆ In 2008, I designed and coded from scratch my own .com domain. I taught myself HTML and CSS via Neopets. I had also already been drawing digitally for a few years, creating graphics in MS Paint and Photoshop. It was hosted with GoDaddy and I advertised it on MySpace and Neopets. It had pixel adoptables (drawn with mouse in MS Paint), animated pixel adoptables and text images (same as previous and animated in Photoshop), "Hatchables" (Special pixel adoptable eggs that were animated, colored with a gradient, and, a couple weeks after adoption, the image link would remain the same but a new image was uploaded by me, thus, your egg would "hatch" into a new pet! Sound familiar...? I created these in 2009, and yet I was unaware of multiple other sites doing this??????? But there's also Tamagotchi lol. No recollection of what could have inspired me or if it was subconscious or what.), backgrounds (repeating / tiled; created in MS Paint and Photoshop), photos of my makeup looks for inspiration, photos of my baked goods with recipes, skincare advice, and more! I closed my website in 2016.

my mildreds across pet sites!

Art Note: Any art you see that's drawn by other users will have credit listed next to it. All other artwork you see on my pages or threads is drawn by me (again, unless stated otherwise). I draw by hand with a mouse and animate from scratch. I grew up being taught that the more detail and the more realistic, the better. When art can actually be anything (duh). For several years now, I have appreciated simplicity more, over dynamics. Not everything needs to be complex. Simple art is good too and I very much prefer it with pet site art. I struggle to avoid adding details to my work. I want to draw more simple looking things. I want to draw one shape and be done with it lol but it's so hard for me to stop and think something is done. Like with my bakery backgrounds, I set out with a goal: make them extremely simple. Crude, even (which I like). Over time, I started adding more details to each one. And... I didn't want to do that LOL. I don't exactly share my art online because I've dealt with copying and theft way too many times during my life. It just became too much at one point and I gave up, I stopped. So even though I love to draw, traditionally and digitally, and paint, sculpt, collage, craft, etc. etc., you won't actually find as much of my work as you'd think. I keep 99% of it private. There's always gonna be a breaking point. And over time, I didn't find it worth it to share anymore, because I just kept having my ideas taken and claimed as someone else's. I love to INSPIRE people, or encourage people... but I want people to be themselves, try to be, and try to be original, unique, find their own thing, find their own voice. You CAN have your own ideas, they can be wonderful. Make something your own. Be original. I'm 34, so again, it's been decades of me dealing with this, and finally getting sick of it, and a very long while now of me avoiding sharing art online. I figured I'd mention something about this somewhere cuz most people don't know, as I don't often bring it up. I just feel like people could maybe be like oh you say you like to draw etc. but where is your stuff, where is your toyhouse, why is what you draw not very good, or plentiful? Lol.
