Rest Nests and sleep

Rest Nests were added on 25 May, 2025. They allow you to store chickens you do not regularly use without them counting towards your coop limit. You can send chickens to Rest Nests from their profile, or from your coop status page.

When chickens are sent to a Rest Nest, they gain an Asleep status effect, which causes the following effects:

• Their sprite will be shown in a nest with their eyes closed
• They do not produce currency eggs at server rollover
• They cannot be bred
• Items cannot be used on them
• They cannot be used in minigames like Eggspedition and Heists
• They do not get hungry and are not fed by the "Feed all" button

After waking up, the chicken will return to their original roost in the original position. For a day after waking up, chickens will have a Waking Up status effect. Chickens that are Waking Up will not produce currency eggs at server rollover.

Completing a trade with the chicken in a carton, selling the chicken, or releasing it to the Pullet Pool will cause the chicken to wake up and gain the Waking Up status.

Rest Nest slots

All users receive one free Rest Nest per month from the day their account was created. Users can also purchase more Rest Nests at their Rest Nest page (linked at the top of the page). The first slot costs 30 eggs, and each subsequent slot costs 30 eggs more than the last.
