I didn't even know the numpad worked for cc but yeah it's also random for me
Chrome user, same issue on my end too.
i also have the same issue with mine
This is a really odd one - I am having some trouble reproducing the bug on my end and it looks to be working as expected. Could I ask all here who have this issue what operating system and browser you're on? @MisspelledFox @CheepCheep777 @dogstarlite @Lizard2Hooman
Also, is it completely random with no pattern at all? And, is this happening only with the number pad, the number keys above the letters, or both?
And thirdly actually - I've just pushed out an update that logs the keys you're pressing in the browser console. Could someone go in Clucky Clicker, open the console, press a specific key (say 1) repeatedly and send a screencap of what gets logged?
@circlejourney Windows 10, Firefox
Though now it seems the number row actually aligns with the proper chicken, such as pressing 1 will select column 1 row 1
Which means with my current numpad it would select them backwards
789 | 456 | 123 <- what the rows of my numpad looks like
Chrome, Windows 10 here.
The issue is still happening for me. It's affecting both the numpad and the number row, and I can't see a pattern in it.
(I'm afraid I have no idea how to navigate the console to get it to show like Razei's screenshot above )
@dogstsrlite if you're on desktop it would be pressing F12 or Ctrl Shift I. That would be really helpful if you're able to, but no sweat if you can't!
Also just to be extra sure, @ everyone here, this is definitely not a case of selecting the wrong chick and having a different one be correct (and highlighted in green)? I might add something that highlights the one you selected in yellow and see if that resolves any clarity issues.
Oops @dogstarlite broke the ping ^
Update: I've updated the Clucky Clicker code to highlight the chick you clicked (+ the correct chick still in green). Let me know if it is still appearing to click randomly!
@CheepCheep777 Oh yeah, I have been aware of the issue with numpads having a layout that is vertically in reverse order from the chicks... I hesitate to remap 1 -> 7, 2 -> 8 etc. because I don't want to confuse people who rely on looking at what's written on the number keys, anyone who happens to have a different keyboard layout...maybe this needs a poll? Since the numpad clearly has the numbers laid out in a 3x3 grid and the mast majority of numpads have it with smallest digits at the bottom.
OH you know what, you're totally right. I didn't realize because prior to this thread I'd only been using my mouse to select, but it was the highlighting of the correct chick that was confusing me. :'D The new highlight helped me to realize what was really going on! It's working as intended on my end!
@dogstarlite oh, fantastic! Glad to know the change helped to clear that up, sometimes it's equally a matter of how clearly the website communicates information. thank you for the feedback!
