What is White Rooster?

White Rooster is a trading game inspired by the real life gift-giving game White Elephant!

  • During signup, you pick a chicken to play with.
  • Basically how White Rooster will work is there's a signup period with a host where everyone secretly adds a chicken to the pot by DMing it to the host. (Honor system to not look it up.) Then once everyone is in, the people who signed up are put in a random order and the game starts. At first, all of the chickens are hidden and just given a number. Player 1 chooses a number, the chicken under it is revealed, and they have one claim on it. Then it's Player 2's turn - they can choose to claim an unclaimed chicken or steal Player 1's chicken. If they steal, then Player 1 immediately has to pick a new chicken to claim besides the one that just got stolen from them. Then it's player 3's turn - same deal, they can choose to claim an unclaimeed chicken or steal a chicken. If you're stolen from, you can also steal from someone else (as long as its not the person who just stole from you) and create a long chain of theft before someone claims an unclaimed chicken. Once everyone lands on a chicken, then round 2 starts from the top again, and Player 1 gets to choose if they want to keep the chicken they currently have claimed or steal someone else's chicken. If you touch a chicken 3 times, you secure it and nobody can steal it from you, but you also can't steal from anyone else or claim any unclaimed chickens. If you lock a chicken down, it belongs to you and you belong to it. At the end of the game, everyone will end up with a chicken and everyone transfers the chickens to the people who won them!
