I may be a chicken, but I'm the only one who can fly!
Lemon wasn't born with a golden egg, but she was born with a golden heart. She hatched on a sunny spring day, the first chick to emerge from her speckled brown egg. While other chickens were more interested in pecking at the ground and chasing each other than exploring the world. Lemon, with her bright yellow feathers and curious eyes, was different. She spent her days observing the world around her, watching and listening to the stories from elder chickens, who had seen it all. She learned the best places to find juicy worms, the secrets to laying the most beautiful eggs, and the importance of community within the coop.
Lemon loved to watch the birds soaring above the coop. She longed to feel the wind beneath her wings, to experience the freedom of flight. She would spend hours gazing at the sky, imagining herself soaring above the fields, the world spread out beneath her like a giant tapestry.
Sunny confided in her best friend, a fluffy blue spotted chicken named Blueberry. "Blueberry," she whispered, "I want to fly. I want to see the world from up high!"
Blueberry shook his head. "But Sunny, we're chickens. We scratch the ground and lay eggs. We can't fly."
But Sunny didn’t give up. She flapped her wings every day, trying to lift off the ground. She watched the birds closely, hoping to learn their secret. She even asked some elder chickens to teach her how to fly, but they just chuckled and said, "You're a great hen, Sunny, but you're not a bird."
